I Can See

Colored-pencil drawing of a smiling man in a suit and red tie standing in a doorway, with a red devil figure peeking from behind it; handwritten text reads "Who are we being asked to Vote for."

Politics,It’s a trick!Whoever wins, takes their pick,On who they’ll trick. They lay it on thick. It makes me sick!I can’t believe what they say! What they let you see is the overlayFor the underplay. It’s the game they play!

Defenders of our Constitution,Need lessons on conflict resolution,They should be consistent with our principles,One nation, under God, indivisible! The division could not be more visible,It’s despicable! We’re supposed to be amicable!

Traditional, leaders of the free world,A free world is the objective. Our politics have lost sight of this perspective. We escaped religious persecution.Ever present is a different persecution,And few politicians question why. It’s their 9 to 5,So, it’s ride or die,Right or wrong.Loyalty to their causeLock their jaws,Which I believe is oneOf their biggest flaws!

Be for all people — created equal!Let go of the divisionAnd embrace the original vision. One nation under God, indivisible,With liberty and justiceFor all!
